Admox Suspension contains Amoxicillin Trihydrate in a palatable liquid formulation, making it ideal for children and adults who have difficulty swallowing capsules or tablets. Amoxicillin is a broad-spectrum aminopenicillin that kills bacteria by interfering with cell wall synthesis.

Indications

Admox 100ml Suspension (Amoxicillin Trihydrate) is indicated for infections caused by susceptible organisms:

  • Otitis Media (Middle Ear Infection): Common paediatric indication
  • Pharyngitis & Tonsillitis caused by Streptococcus pyogenes
  • Respiratory Tract Infections: Pneumonia, bronchitis in children
  • Urinary Tract Infections
  • Skin & Soft Tissue Infections
  • Dental Infections

Dosage & Administration

Children (under 10 years): 125–250mg three times daily depending on age and weight. 25–50mg/kg/day in divided doses every 8 hours.

Children (over 10 years): 250–500mg three times daily.

Administration: Shake well before each use. May be taken with or without food. Use the measuring device provided. Reconstitute dry powder with clean water to the fill line before use.

Duration: Complete the full prescribed course (typically 5–10 days).

Contraindications & Precautions

  • Contraindicated with known hypersensitivity to amoxicillin or other penicillins/cephalosporins
  • Dose reduction in severe renal impairment
  • Caution in history of allergic conditions (asthma, eczema, hay fever)

Side Effects

Common: Diarrhoea, nausea, skin rash. Hypersensitivity reactions may occur. Discard unused suspension after 7–14 days (check labelling).

Storage

Store dry powder below 25°C. After reconstitution, store in refrigerator and discard after 7 days. Shake well before each use. Keep out of reach of children.
