Overview
Entacyd Plus Chewable Tablet contains Aluminium Hydroxide 400 mg, Magnesium Hydroxide 400 mg, and Simethicone 30 mg, manufactured by Square Pharmaceuticals PLC. The chewable tablet form offers the same triple antacid-anti-flatulent action as the suspension in a convenient, portable, and palatable solid dosage form. Suitable for symptomatic relief of heartburn, sour stomach, acid indigestion, bloating, and flatulence.
Dosage and Administration
Adults: chew 1–2 tablets 20–60 minutes after meals and at bedtime, or as prescribed. Chew thoroughly before swallowing. Drink a glass of water after chewing.
Interaction
Same as suspension form: reduces absorption of tetracyclines, fluoroquinolones, iron salts, ketoconazole, and many other drugs. Take other medications at least 2 hours apart.
Contraindications
Same as suspension: severe renal impairment, hypophosphataemia, known hypersensitivity to components.
Side Effects
Constipation (aluminium), diarrhoea (magnesium) — effects tend to balance with the combination. Simethicone is inert.
Pregnancy and Lactation
Generally considered safe for short-term use in pregnancy under physician guidance.
Precautions and Warnings
