Indications

Proviten JR Syrup is indicated for the prevention and treatment of vitamin and mineral deficiencies in infants, children, and adults. It is particularly recommended when there is an increased need for vitamins and minerals, including during:

• Illness, recovery, and post-infection convalescence
• Growth spurts and periods of rapid development in infants and children
• Poor dietary intake, selective eating, or nutritional gaps in children's diets
• Increased physical exertion and periods of heightened performance demands
• Immune support during seasonal changes

Composition

Each 5ml of Proviten JR Syrup contains:

Pharmacology

Proviten JR provides balanced amounts of all important vitamins, essential minerals, and trace elements required for healthy growth and development in infants and children. Key nutritional roles:

• Vitamins A, C, E, Selenium, Zinc: Form an antioxidant network supporting immune defence and cell protection.
• Vitamin D3 (137.5 IU/5ml) + Calcium: Essential for bone mineralisation, tooth development, and calcium homeostasis in growing children.
• B-complex vitamins (B1, B2, B5, B12, Biotin): Co-enzymes for energy metabolism, red blood cell production, and neurological development.
• Iodine (25 mcg/5ml): Supports thyroid function and cognitive development — deficiency during childhood impairs brain development.
• Zinc (2.5 mg/5ml): Critical for immune function, growth, wound healing, and appetite regulation.
• Choline + Inositol: Support brain development, cell membrane function, and liver health.
• Chromium: Enhances insulin sensitivity and carbohydrate metabolism.

Dosage and Administration

Administer orally, preferably after a meal:

• Infants up to 1 year: 1 teaspoon (5ml) daily
• Children 1–4 years: 1–2 teaspoons (5–10ml) daily
• Children 4–12 years: 2–3 teaspoons (10–15ml) daily
• Adults: 3–4 teaspoons (15–20ml) daily

Shake well before use. Use the measuring cup provided. Administer directly or mix with juice or milk if preferred.

Contraindications

• Known hypersensitivity to any ingredient in the formulation
• Hypervitaminosis A (excess Vitamin A toxicity)

Warnings and Precautions

• Do not exceed the recommended dose — continuous use in excess of the recommended amount should only be undertaken on physician advice.
• Keep out of reach of children — store safely to prevent accidental ingestion of large quantities.
• Do not give additional high-dose vitamin A or D supplements concurrently without physician guidance to avoid toxicity of fat-soluble vitamins.

Side Effects

Proviten JR Syrup is generally very well tolerated. Side effects are rare at recommended doses:

• Mild gastrointestinal discomfort — nausea or loose stools with higher doses
• Allergic reactions — extremely rare

Drug Interactions

No significant drug interactions have been reported at recommended doses. Iron-free formulation reduces the risk of antibiotic absorption interference seen with iron-containing supplements.

Use in Pregnancy and Lactation

Specific safety data in pregnancy and lactation are limited. If multivitamin supplementation is required during pregnancy, Precare Tablet (Incepta) is specifically formulated for this purpose and is preferred. Proviten JR Syrup may be used during lactation under physician guidance.

Store in a cool, dry place, away from light. Keep the bottle tightly closed. Keep out of reach of children. Do not use after the expiry date printed on the bottle.
