Acme's Milk of Magnesia Plus 120 ml Oral Emulsion

DESCRIPTION

ACME’s Milk of Magnesia Plus has a dual formulation containing Magnesium Hydroxide as an osmotic laxative and Liquid Paraffin as a lubricant. Osmotic laxatives work by drawing water into the bowel, which softens stools and lubricant makes them easier to pass out of the body.

COMPOSITION

Each 5 ml ACME’s Milk of Magnesia Plus contains Magnesium Hydroxide BP 300 mg and Liquid Paraffin BP 1.25 ml.

INDICATION

It is recommended for the temporary relief of constipation.

DOSAGE AND ADMINISTRATION

Adults & Children over 12 years : 15 - 30 ml (3 - 6 teaspoonsful) before breakfast or at bed time.

Children 7 to 12 years: 7.5 - 15 ml (1.5 - 3 teaspoonsful) at bedtime.

Children 3-7 years: 5-10 ml (1 - 2 teaspoonsful) taken at bedtime. ACME’s Milk of Magnesia Plus may, if necessary, be taken with water or milk.

SIDE EFFECT

This medicine is unlikely to cause any side effects. However it may experience stomach cramps.

PRECAUTION

This medicine should not be used if constipation is accompanied by symptoms of nausea, vomiting, stomach pain, bleeding or patient is known to have a blockage in the bowel. It should not be used regularly as this can lead to dehydration.

USE IN PREGNANCY AND LACTATION

It is not recommended during pregnancy and lactation.

USE IN CHILDREN

It is not recommended for children under 3 years.

Each carton contains 120 ml emulsion in amber PET bottle and a measuring cup.
