Amodis Suspension contains Metronidazole, manufactured by Square Pharmaceuticals PLC. It is an antiprotozoal and antibacterial agent indicated for the treatment of trichomoniasis, intestinal and extra-intestinal amoebiasis, and giardiasis, particularly suited for paediatric use.
Dosage and Administration
Dosage is calculated according to age and indication. Children 7-10 years: 400 mg three times daily for intestinal amoebiasis; Children 1-3 years: 200 mg three times daily. Follow the physician's advice for the exact regimen.
Interaction
Disulfiram-like reaction with alcohol; potentiates warfarin's anticoagulant effect; increases lithium and cyclosporin levels; phenytoin and phenobarbital may reduce its plasma levels.
Contraindications
Contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to Metronidazole or other nitroimidazole derivatives.
Side Effects
Metallic taste, nausea, vomiting, diarrhoea, drowsiness, and rashes may be observed during treatment.
