Overview
Anclog Tablet contains Clopidogrel Bisulphate, manufactured by Square Pharmaceuticals PLC. It is an anti-platelet agent used to reduce the risk of myocardial infarction, stroke, and vascular death in patients with atherosclerosis, acute coronary syndrome, and following placement of a coronary stent.
Dosage and Administration
The usual dose is 75 mg once daily, with or without food. In acute coronary syndrome, a loading dose of 300 mg may be given initially, followed by 75 mg once daily, as advised by the physician.
Interaction
Concomitant use with NSAIDs and aspirin increases the risk of gastrointestinal bleeding. Proton pump inhibitors such as omeprazole may reduce the antiplatelet effect of Clopidogrel. Caution with warfarin due to increased bleeding risk.
Contraindications
Contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to Clopidogrel, active pathological bleeding such as peptic ulcer or intracranial haemorrhage, and severe hepatic impairment.
Side Effects
Bleeding, bruising, dyspepsia, diarrhoea, abdominal pain, and rash. Rarely, severe bleeding complications may occur.
Pregnancy and Lactation
Use during pregnancy only if clearly needed, as safety data are limited. Not recommended during breastfeeding.
Precautions and Warnings
Should be discontinued at least 5-7 days before elective surgery due to bleeding risk. Use with caution in patients at increased risk of bleeding from trauma, surgery, or other pathological conditions.
