Overview

Asynta Chewable Tablet contains Sodium Alginate and Potassium Bicarbonate, manufactured by Square Pharmaceuticals PLC. It forms a protective raft over the stomach contents, relieving heartburn, acid reflux, and symptoms associated with gastro-oesophageal reflux disease.

Dosage and Administration

Adults: 1-2 tablets chewed thoroughly after meals and at bedtime, or as advised by the physician. Should not be swallowed whole.

Interaction

May reduce absorption of tetracyclines, iron salts, and digoxin if taken concurrently; allow at least a 2-hour interval between doses.

Contraindications

Contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to alginates and in severe renal impairment due to the potassium content.

Side Effects

Generally well tolerated; occasional bloating or flatulence may occur.
