Axim CV 250 mg Tab is a combination antibiotic from ACI Limited, Bangladesh, containing two active components: cefuroxime axetil (a second-generation cephalosporin) and clavulanic acid (a beta-lactamase inhibitor). Together, they form a broader-spectrum antibiotic combination that can overcome certain types of bacterial antibiotic resistance that would otherwise render cefuroxime alone ineffective.

Dosage and Administration

  • Standard adult dose: 250 mg tablet twice daily × 5–10 days (duration varies by infection type)
  • Take with food: Both cefuroxime axetil and clavulanic acid are better absorbed with food, and clavulanate in particular causes significant nausea when taken on an empty stomach
  • Swallow whole: Do not crush or chew — tablets have a film coating for delayed release and flavour masking

Drug Interactions
