Overview

Calbo-D Tablet contains Calcium Carbonate and Vitamin D3 (Cholecalciferol), manufactured by Square Pharmaceuticals PLC. It is used to prevent and treat calcium and Vitamin D deficiencies, to support bone health in osteoporosis, and as adjunct therapy for conditions requiring calcium and Vitamin D supplementation.

Dosage and Administration

Adults: 1 tablet once or twice daily with meals, or as advised by the physician. Vitamin D enhances calcium absorption from the gut.

Thiazide diuretics may increase the risk of hypercalcaemia. Calcium may reduce absorption of tetracyclines, fluoroquinolones, and bisphosphonates; maintain a 2-hour interval.

Contraindications

Contraindicated in hypercalcaemia, hypervitaminosis D, nephrolithiasis, and known hypersensitivity to any component.

Side Effects

Constipation, bloating, and flatulence. Hypercalcaemia may occur with excessive long-term intake.

Pregnancy and Lactation

Considered safe during pregnancy and lactation at recommended doses; calcium and Vitamin D requirements increase during pregnancy, under medical supervision.

Precautions and Warnings

Avoid exceeding recommended doses of Vitamin D. Periodically monitor serum calcium in patients with renal impairment or on prolonged therapy.

Storage Conditions

Store below 30°C, in a dry place, protected from light and moisture. Keep out of the reach of children.
