Overview

Calbo-D Vita Tablet contains Calcium Lactate Gluconate, Calcium Carbonate, and Vitamin D3 in a highly bioavailable effervescent formulation, manufactured by Square Pharmaceuticals PLC. It provides a high-dose calcium and Vitamin D3 supplement for the prevention and treatment of osteoporosis, calcium deficiency, and conditions requiring enhanced calcium and Vitamin D intake.

Dosage and Administration

Dissolve one tablet in a glass of water and drink immediately, once daily or as advised by the physician. Best taken with or after meals.

Interaction

May reduce absorption of tetracyclines, fluoroquinolones, and bisphosphonates; take 2 hours apart. Thiazide diuretics may increase the risk of hypercalcaemia.

Contraindications

Contraindicated in hypercalcaemia, hypervitaminosis D, severe renal impairment, and known hypersensitivity to any component.

Side Effects

Generally well tolerated; mild gastrointestinal discomfort and flatulence may occur. Excessive intake may cause hypercalcaemia.

Pregnancy and Lactation

Safe at recommended doses during pregnancy and lactation under medical supervision; calcium and Vitamin D requirements are increased during these periods.

Precautions and Warnings

Do not exceed the recommended dose. Monitor serum calcium periodically in patients with renal impairment or on prolonged high-dose therapy.
