Cef-3 Paediatric Drops contain Cefixime Trihydrate at 25 mg/ml, manufactured by Square Pharmaceuticals PLC. Dosage and Administration

Infants and young children: 8 mg/kg/day as a single daily dose, or divided into two doses, as prescribed by the physician. Use the calibrated dropper provided for accurate measurement. Shake well before use.

Interaction

Carbamazepine plasma levels may be increased. Warfarin effect may be enhanced. Probenecid increases cefixime levels.

Contraindications

Contraindicated in infants with known hypersensitivity to cefixime or other cephalosporins.

Diarrhoea, loose stools, nausea, and skin rash. Discontinue and seek medical attention if allergic reactions develop.
