Overview

Colicon Syrup (10 mg/5 ml) contains Dicycloverine Hydrochloride, manufactured by Square Pharmaceuticals PLC. This liquid formulation is used for the relief of colicky pain, irritable bowel syndrome, and smooth muscle spasms in patients who require a liquid antispasmodic preparation. NOT for use in infants under 6 months.

Dosage and Administration

Children (>6 months): dosing as prescribed by the physician based on age and weight. Adults: 10–20 mg (5–10 ml) three or four times daily. Measure using the calibrated device supplied.

Interaction

Same as tablet form — may enhance effects of other anticholinergic agents.

Contraindications

Contraindicated in infants under 6 months, obstructive conditions, myasthenia gravis, and known hypersensitivity to dicycloverine.

Side Effects

Dry mouth, blurred vision, tachycardia, constipation, and urinary hesitancy. Drowsiness may occur.

Pregnancy and Lactation

Use with caution in pregnancy; avoid during breastfeeding.
