Dyvon Plus Topical Suspension 25 ml

Overview

Dyvon Plus 0.05%+0.005% Topical Suspension contains Betamethasone Dipropionate 0.05% and Calcipotriol Monohydrate 0.005%, manufactured by Square Pharmaceuticals PLC. The suspension formulation is specifically designed for scalp psoriasis where the fluid consistency allows easy application through hair to reach the scalp. It combines the anti-inflammatory properties of betamethasone with the keratinocyte-normalising activity of calcipotriol.

Dosage and Administration

Adults: apply to the affected scalp once daily. Maximum 60 ml per week. Shake well before use. Apply to the dry scalp, leave for 8 hours (e.g. overnight), then wash off.

Interaction

Same as Dyvon Plus ointment: betamethasone may potentiate hypokalaemia with thiazide diuretics; avoid concurrent use with other scalp steroids.

Contraindications

Contraindicated on broken or infected scalp (bacterial, viral, or fungal), hypercalcaemia, atrophic scalp skin, and known hypersensitivity to any component.

Side Effects

Scalp irritation, folliculitis, skin atrophy with prolonged use. Systemic absorption may cause adrenal suppression with prolonged or occlusive application. Hypercalcaemia possible if dose exceeded.

Pregnancy and Lactation

Avoid during pregnancy and breastfeeding unless directed by a physician — systemic absorption through the scalp must be considered.

Precautions and Warnings

Maximum 60 ml/week scalp suspension. Avoid contact with eyes — if contact occurs, rinse immediately. Do not use on infected or broken scalp. Limit to shortest effective treatment duration.
