Overview

Enerton Syrup is a polyherbal tonic formulation based on Balarista, manufactured by Square Pharmaceuticals PLC. It contains Sida cordifolia, Withania somnifera (Ashwagandha), Tribulus terrestris, Ricinus communis, Vanda roxburghii, Elettaria cardamomum, Syzygium aromaticum, and Vetiveria zizanoides. This combination provides adaptogenic, CNS stimulant, bronchodilatory, and tonic properties. Enerton is indicated for physical debility, fatigue and weakness, muscle tone improvement, debility following fever, and as a general tonic for sportspeople, asthma patients, and geriatric patients.

Dosage and Administration

Adults (above 12 years): 1–2 teaspoonfuls (5–10 ml) three times daily, or as directed by the physician.

Interaction

Due to CNS-stimulating properties of Sida cordifolia (contains ephedrine), caution is required with MAOIs, other CNS stimulants, decongestants, and sympathomimetic drugs. Inform physician of all concurrent medications.

Contraindications

Use with caution in hypertension, diabetes mellitus, benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH), and cardiovascular diseases. Not recommended during pregnancy. Use with caution in patients on other CNS stimulant medications.

Side Effects

Generally well tolerated within recommended doses. Ephedrine alkaloids in Sida cordifolia may cause increased heart rate, nervousness, and elevated blood pressure at high doses.

Pregnancy and Lactation

Not recommended during pregnancy due to the stimulant properties of Sida cordifolia and other constituents.

Precautions and Warnings

Avoid exceeding the recommended dose. Those with hypertension, heart disease, or diabetes should use only under physician supervision. Athletes should be aware that Sida cordifolia contains ephedrine, which may be prohibited in competitive sports.
