DESCRIPTION

Exinil cream is a soft white cream containing Econazole Nitrate BP 1% and Triamcinolone Acetonide BP 0.1%.

COMPOSITION

Each gram cream contains Econazole Nitrate BP 10 mg & Triamcinolone Acetonide BP 1 mg.

INDICATION

Econazole Nitrate is a broad-spectrum antifungal agent. It is effective against various dermatophytes, yeasts and moulds. Moreover, it has activity against gram-positive bacteria. Triamcinolone Acetonide is a potent corticosteroid with anti-inflammatory, anti-pruritic and anti-allergic activity.

Exinil cream is indicated in dermatomycosis caused by dermatophytol yeast and fungus with clear inflammatory and allergic symptoms such as various eczematos mycosis, diaper dermatitis, eczema marginatum, intertrigo, follicolitis, tricophytica and cycosis barbi. Exinil cream is also indicated for the treatment of mycosis present in various folds of the body.

DOSAGE & ADMINISTRATION

The cream should be applied by gently rubbing into the skin with the finger once or twice daily for 14 days.

SIDE EFFECTS

Exinil cream is well tolerated, even to sensitive skin. Burning sensation, pruritis and reddish skin have rarely been reported.

CONTRAINDICATION

Like all preparations containing corticosteroids, Exinil cream should not be used on tubercular or leutic skin infections or in viral diseases (e.g. herpes, vaccina and varicella).

PRECAUTION

Long-term continuous steroid therapy should be avoided since adrenal suppression can occur, particularly when infants or children are treated or when occlusive dressings are applied. Discontinuation of the medication is advised if hypersensitivity occur.

USE IN PREGNANCY

The use of corticosteroids during pregnancy has not been established. However, topical steroids should not be used extensively in pregnancy, i.e. in large amount or for prolonged period.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

The infected area should be kept clean & dry during treatment. To be sold or dispensed only on or by the prescription of a registered physician.

STORAGE

 Store in a cool & dry place, protect from light.

 Keep out of the reach of children.

 Close the mouth of tube well after each application.

 Do not freeze.
