DESCRIPTION

OXECONE®-MS (Magaldrate & Simethicone) is a wellbalanced non- systemic pleasant tasting antacid and antiflatulent medication that provides consistent and effective relief

from hyperacidity and gas. The active Magaldrate of

OXECONE®-MS demonstrates a rapid, sustained and uniform buffering action and Simethicone reduces the surface tension of gas bubbles causing them to coalesce. As OXECONE®-MS contains low sodium, it is particularly suitable for those patients whose dietary sodium intake is restricted. OXECONE®-MS is free from sugar. So it is suitable for diabetic and obese patients also.

COMPOSITION

Tablet : Each chewable tablet contains Magaldrate USP 480 mg and Simethicone USP 20 mg.

Suspension : Each 5 ml suspension contains Magaldrate USP 480 mg and Simethicone USP 20 mg.

INDICATIONS

Peptic ulcer, GERD, heartburn, dyspepsia and flatulence.

OXECONE®-MS is indicated as antiflatulent to alleviate the symptoms of mucous-entrapped gas including postoperative gas pain.

DOSAGE AND ADMINISTRATION

Tablet : 1-4 chewable tablets 1-2 hours after meals and at

bedtime. Tablet should be chewed well. It should not be swallowed with water.

Suspension : 1-4 teaspoonful 1-2 hours after meal and at bed time or when required.

OR AS DIRECTED BY THE PHYSICIAN.

SIDE EFFECTS

Gastrointestinal side effects due to Magaldrate & Simethicone are uncommon. Occasionally mild constipation may occur in small percentage of patients.

CONTRAINDICATIONS

It is contraindicated for the patients who are hypersensitive to any ingredients of this products.

PRECAUTIONS

Pregnancy : Magaldrate & Simethicone may be used in

pregnancy if indicated. No data available to suggest any harmful effect.

Lactation : Magaldrate may pass into breast milk but has not been reported to cause problem in nursing babies. Excretion of Simethicone in breast milk has not been reported.

SUPPLY

Tablet : Each box contains 10 x 10 tablets in blister strips.

Suspension : Each bottle contains 200 ml suspension.
