DESCRIPTION

RHINOZOL (Xylometazoline Hydro-chloride) is an effective nasal decongestant. It is a sympathomimetic amine of the imidazoline class with marked alpha-adrenergic activity and is a direct agonist at adrenoceptors. RHINOZOL is vasoconstrictor with a rapid and prolonged action.

COMPOSITION

Drops 0.1% : Each ml contains Xylometazoline Hydrochloride USP 1 mg.

Drops 0.05% : Each ml contains Xylometazoline Hydrochloride USP 0.5 mg.

INDICATIONS

Nasal congestion caused by rhinitis, sinusitis, cold and allergic disorders.

DOSAGE AND ADMINISTRATION

Adults : RHINOZOL 0.1% 2-3 drops into each nostril 2-3 times daily.

Children : RHINOZOL 0.05% 1-2 drops into each nostril 1-2 times daily.

OR AS DIRECTED BY THE PHYSICIAN.

SIDE EFFECTS

Side effects are infrequent and mild. Drowsiness, headache, local stinging, sneezing, dryness of the nose and palpitation may occur.

CONTRAINDICATIONS

Narrow angle glaucoma is an absolute contraindication.

PRECAUTIONS

Xylometazoline Hydrochloride nasal drops for adults (0.1%) should not be used for children below 12 years. Drops should not be used for long time in cases with chronic rhinitis. Prolonged use of the drops may cause rebound congestion and drug induced rhinitis.

Drops 0.1% : Plastic dropper bottle contains 15 ml 0.1% nasal drops.

Drops 0.05% : Plastic dropper bottle contains 15 ml 0.05% nasal drops.
