Alarid 5 ml Eye Drops

Overview

Alarid Eye Drop contains Ketotifen Fumarate 0.025%, manufactured by Square Pharmaceuticals PLC. It is a mast cell stabilizer and antihistamine indicated for the temporary relief of itching of the eyes caused by allergic conjunctivitis.

Dosage and Administration

Instill one drop in the affected eye(s) twice daily, at an interval of 8 to 12 hours, or as advised by the physician.

Interaction

No clinically significant drug interactions have been reported with ophthalmic Ketotifen.

Contraindications

Contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to Ketotifen or any other ingredient of the formulation.

Side Effects

Mild burning or stinging sensation upon instillation, headache, conjunctival injection, and dry eye. These are usually transient.

Pregnancy and Lactation

Use during pregnancy and lactation only if clearly needed and under medical supervision, as adequate human studies are lacking.

Precautions and Warnings

Avoid wearing contact lenses if eyes are red. Remove contact lenses before instillation and wait at least 10 minutes before reinserting.

Storage Conditions

Store at room temperature, away from light and heat. Keep out of the reach of children.
