Anril 400 mcg Spray

Overview

Anril Spray contains Nitroglycerin (Glyceryl Trinitrate), manufactured by Square Pharmaceuticals PLC. It is a fast-acting sublingual spray used for the rapid relief of acute anginal attacks and for prophylaxis of angina before situations likely to provoke an attack.

Dosage and Administration

1-2 sprays (400-800 mcg) under the tongue at the onset of an anginal attack. May repeat if pain persists after 5 minutes, up to a maximum of 3 sprays within 15 minutes. Avoid inhaling the spray.

Interaction

Concomitant use with phosphodiesterase-5 inhibitors (e.g., sildenafil) can cause severe hypotension and is contraindicated. Alcohol and antihypertensives may potentiate hypotensive effects.

Contraindications

Contraindicated in patients with severe hypotension, hypovolaemia, severe anaemia, closed-angle glaucoma, and concurrent use of PDE-5 inhibitors.

Side Effects

Headache, flushing, dizziness, and postural hypotension are common, especially with the first few doses. Reflex tachycardia may occur.

Pregnancy and Lactation

Use only if clearly needed and under medical supervision; data on use during pregnancy and lactation are limited.

Precautions and Warnings

Use with caution in patients with recent myocardial infarction, hypotension, or hypovolaemia. Sit or lie down when administering the first dose to avoid syncope.

Store below 30°C, away from heat and direct sunlight. Keep the spray bottle upright and out of reach of children.
