Overview

Avaspray Nasal Spray contains Fluticasone Furoate, manufactured by Square Pharmaceuticals PLC. It is a corticosteroid nasal spray used for the treatment and prevention of symptoms of allergic rhinitis, including nasal congestion, sneezing, itching, and rhinorrhoea.

Dosage and Administration

Adults and children 12 years and older: 2 sprays in each nostril once daily, which may be reduced to 1 spray per nostril once symptoms are controlled. Children 2-11 years: 1 spray in each nostril once daily.

Interaction

Concomitant use with strong CYP3A4 inhibitors such as ritonavir may increase systemic exposure to fluticasone furoate.

Contraindications

Contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to fluticasone furoate or any component of the formulation.

Side Effects

Epistaxis (nosebleed), nasal irritation, headache, and unpleasant taste or smell. Nasal septal perforation is a rare but serious side effect with prolonged use.
