Angivent MR 35mg/tablet

Overview

Angivent MR Tablet contains Trimetazidine Dihydrochloride, manufactured by Square Pharmaceuticals PLC. It is a metabolic anti-anginal agent indicated as add-on therapy for the symptomatic treatment of patients with stable angina pectoris who are inadequately controlled or intolerant of first-line anti-anginal therapies.

Dosage and Administration

The usual dose is one tablet (35 mg) twice daily, taken with meals in the morning and evening.

Interaction

No clinically significant drug interactions have been established; however, caution is advised when combined with other drugs affecting cardiac conduction or motor function.

Contraindications

Contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to Trimetazidine, Parkinson's disease, parkinsonian symptoms, tremors, restless legs syndrome, and severe renal impairment.

Side Effects

Dizziness, headache, gastrointestinal disturbances (nausea, vomiting, abdominal pain), and rash. Rarely, extrapyramidal symptoms such as tremor and gait disorders may occur.

Pregnancy and Lactation

Use during pregnancy only if clearly needed, as data are limited. Not recommended during breastfeeding.

Precautions and Warnings

May cause or worsen parkinsonian symptoms; should be discontinued if such symptoms develop and not resumed. Dose adjustment may be needed in moderate renal impairment.
