Anril SR 2.6 mg Tab

Overview

Anril SR Tablet contains Nitroglycerin (Glyceryl Trinitrate), manufactured by Square Pharmaceuticals PLC. It is a sustained-release nitrate used for the prophylaxis of angina pectoris, providing prolonged anti-anginal effect through controlled drug release.

Dosage and Administration

Adults: 2.6 mg twice or three times daily, swallowed whole without chewing or crushing, to maintain the sustained-release effect. Dose may be adjusted by the physician based on response.

Interaction

Concomitant use with phosphodiesterase-5 inhibitors is contraindicated due to risk of severe hypotension. Alcohol, antihypertensives, and other vasodilators may enhance hypotensive effects.

Contraindications

Contraindicated in severe hypotension, hypovolaemia, severe anaemia, closed-angle glaucoma, and in patients taking PDE-5 inhibitors.

Side Effects

Headache, dizziness, flushing, and postural hypotension, particularly at the start of therapy. Tolerance may develop with continuous use.

Pregnancy and Lactation

Use only if clearly necessary and under medical supervision; safety data in pregnancy and lactation are limited.

Precautions and Warnings

To reduce tolerance, a nitrate-free interval is generally recommended. Use with caution in patients with recent myocardial infarction or hypotension.

Store below 30°C, in a dry place, protected from light. Keep out of the reach of children.
