Cerevas 5 mg Tablet contains Vinpocetine, manufactured by Square Pharmaceuticals PLC. Vinpocetine is a semi-synthetic derivative of vincamine that enhances cerebral blood flow, inhibits phosphodiesterase (PDE), and has neuroprotective properties. It is used for the symptomatic treatment of chronic cerebrovascular disorders, cognitive impairment, memory disturbances, and neurological sequelae of cerebrovascular accidents (stroke).
Dosage and Administration
Adults: initially 5 mg three times daily; may be increased to 10 mg three times daily as tolerated, as prescribed. Take with meals to improve tolerability.
Interaction
May enhance the anticoagulant effects of warfarin and other anticoagulants; monitor INR. May potentiate the hypotensive effects of antihypertensive agents.
Contraindications
Contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to vinpocetine. Use is not recommended during pregnancy and breastfeeding, and in severe cardiac arrhythmias.
Side Effects
