Tinium 5 mg/2 ml IM/IV Injection

Tinium (Tiemonium Methylsulphate) is a quaternary ammonium antimuscarinic agent with spasmolytic and parasympatholytic effects and is used in the relief of visceral spasms.

Tablet : Each film-coated tablet contains Tiemonium Methylsulphate INN 50 mg.

Injection : Each 2 ml ampoule contains Tiemonium Methylsulphate INN 5 mg.

Tinium (Tiemonium Methylsulphate) is indicated for visceral muscle spasm i.e. spasm of the intestine, biliary system, urinary bladder and uterus. Also, it is indicated for pain in gastrointestinal, biliary, urological and gynaecological diseases.

By mouth : In adults the usual dose of Tinium is 100 to 300 mg daily in divided doses.

By Intravenous or Intramuscular Injection : In Adults the usual dose of Tinium is 1 ampoule by slow IV or IM injection 3 times per day.

Tiemonium Methylsulphate should not be used in cases of glaucoma, difficulty to urinate (disorders of prostate or bladder), paralytic ileus, pyloric stenosis and acute oedema of the lung.

Tiemonium Methylsulphate may have some undesirable effects in certain individuals like risk of hypotension and tachycardia especially in case of rapid injection.

Tiemonium Methylsulphate should not be used with other drugs without prior consultation of a registered physician to avoid possible drug interaction.

Avoid taking this drug without medical advice during pregnancy or lactation.
