Overview
Antista Syrup contains Chlorpheniramine Maleate, manufactured by Square Pharmaceuticals PLC. It is a first-generation antihistamine used for the symptomatic relief of allergic conditions such as allergic rhinitis, urticaria, and other allergic skin reactions.
Dosage and Administration
Adults: 10 ml (4 mg) three to four times daily. Children 6-12 years: 5 ml twice daily. Children 1-5 years: 2.5 ml twice daily, or as advised by the physician. Maximum daily dose should not be exceeded.
Interaction
Concomitant use with alcohol, sedatives, or other CNS depressants increases drowsiness. MAO inhibitors may prolong and intensify the anticholinergic effects.
Contraindications
Contraindicated in patients with hypersensitivity to chlorpheniramine, narrow-angle glaucoma, and severe hepatic disease. Not recommended for neonates.
