Entacyd Plus Suspension 200 ml bottle

Overview

Entacyd Plus Suspension contains Aluminium Hydroxide 200 mg, Magnesium Hydroxide 400 mg, and Simethicone 30 mg per 5 ml, manufactured by Square Pharmaceuticals PLC. This triple-action antacid adds Simethicone — an anti-foaming agent — to the standard aluminium-magnesium antacid combination. Simethicone disperses and prevents formation of gas bubbles in the GI tract, providing additional relief from bloating and flatulence alongside acid neutralisation. Indicated for dyspepsia, gastritis, heartburn, peptic ulcers, and flatulence.

Dosage and Administration

Adults: 10–20 ml three to four times daily, 20–60 minutes after meals and at bedtime, or as directed. Shake well before use.

Interaction

Same interactions as plain antacid: reduces absorption of tetracyclines, fluoroquinolones, iron, ketoconazole, and many other drugs. Take other medications 2 hours apart from this suspension.

Contraindications

Same as plain Entacyd: severe renal impairment, hypophosphataemia, and known hypersensitivity to any component.

Side Effects

Same as plain antacid plus: simethicone is generally inert. Occasional diarrhoea or constipation from the aluminium-magnesium balance.

Pregnancy and Lactation

Generally considered safe for short-term use in pregnancy under physician guidance.

Precautions and Warnings

Shake well before use. Space 2 hours from other medications. Do not use for more than 2 weeks without physician review.
